Charleston's Wind and Wave Report
Most of you are already aware of the primary purposes of a weather buoy; however, for those of you are still a little unsure I will break it down for you.
Basically, a buoy helps to navigate through federal waters, which are refered to as channel markes.
While some aid from a navigation perspective, there are many other types of navigational aids to offer boaters with a sense of direction.
All you need to know is that green markers are located on the right when leaving the harbor and red markers are kept to the right when returning.
An easy to remember term is, "Red on right on return".
